deprived, suffocated, garotted

education nowadays is like business.  you pay for the services you get.  but what's happening?  we are deprived in using the basic commodities like electricity for our laptops and cellphones when in fact, students are footing for the electrical bills.  by calculations, the institution only needs 15 to 20 fully paid accounts in a semester in order to pay for the 5 months electric services.

second.  the laboratory fees- students are paying more or less 400 pesos for the use of laboratories whether biological, physical, speech and other labs.  yet if we look closely there is no improvement.  the equipments are outdated, there's not an air conditioner in sight, the necessary components like chemicals and other materials are absent to the point that the only thing you can do in it is mere lecture.

the worst part of all, are non-teaching personnel who demean students and making them feel that they are beneath the administration, mouthing foul words to the point of verbal abuse.

some of the teaching staff are okay.  they connect to the students and hone and prepare them for the real world.  while others are down right ineffective.  they do nothing in class but chitchat about themselves and how the students will never be able to surpass their accomplishments.  some even go to the point of not discussing to the entire class but only to chosen "good students" because they feel that the "slower" students are beneath them and teaching them is such a waste of time and effort.

a growing institution? more like a dilapidating administration.  it is not the system that needs change, it is the people who doesn't know what respect and truthful service means.
